QTK HEALTH GUARANTEE

We at Quick Trigger Kennels take every precaution to produce a healthy puppy through selective breeding and quality care while the puppy is in our hands. We guarantee that by the time you have received your puppy, he/she has had his/her been dewormed every two weeks, was given his/her first round of vaccinations for Canine Distemper, Adenovirus Type 1 (Hepatitis), Parainfluenza and Parvovirus (DHPP), is microchipped and had a wellness examination at the age of 6 weeks by a Board-Certified Licensed Veterinarian.

Puppies whelped at Quick Trigger Kennels carry a 26-month hip and eye guarantee. This covers any hip or eye genetic problems that prevent the puppy from being certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) or the OFA Canine Eye Registry (CAER). In our breeding program, we only breed females that have an OFA hip rating of GOOD or EXCELLENT hip ratings and received passing CAER, to males with an OFA hip rating of GOOD or EXCELLENT and a passing CAER. Breeding according to these standards provides a higher probability of producing puppies without genetic hip and eye defects. Therefore, we offer this hip and eye guarantee, providing that the buyer complies with this agreement. No other conditions apply to this contract.

Hip Dysplasia Guarantee

  1. Evaluation of hips must be done at or after 24 months of age and prior to 26 months of age by a Board-Certified Licensed Veterinarian. In the event that severely or moderately dysplastic (diagnosed by a Board-Certified Licensed Veterinarian) is suspected, Quick Trigger Kennels reserves the right to request a second evaluation by another Board-Certified Licensed Veterinarian at the owners/buyers expense. Quick Trigger Kennels reserves the right to consult with the Board-Certified Licensed Veterinarian(s) to determine the dysplasia was not a result of anything other than genetics. Quick Trigger Kennels does not honor preliminary hip evaluations.
  2. We do not guarantee that the puppy will be free from dysplasia or other joint issues caused by the upbringing of the puppy in the new owners’ care. Research has shown that dysplasia and other joint issues have three main causes: genetics, over feeding (and poor quality food), and too much stress on joints at a young age. Therefore, Quick Trigger Kennels does not cover hip dysplasia or other joint issues due to but not limited to: over-feeding, over-exertion on joints and bones, accidents, injuries, neglect, poor nutrition, etc.

Eye Guarantee

  1. You MUST have the dog’s eyes examined and certified by a Board-Certified Canine Ophthalmologist by the time the dog reaches 26 months of age. Dogs examined after 26 months are not eligible for this guarantee.
  2. If a problem is indicated before the 26th month stated here within, you must send a copy of the findings or copy of the CAER evaluation by a Board-Certified Canine Ophthalmologist directly to Quick Trigger Kennels.
  3. Quick Trigger Kennels reserves the right to consult with the licensed/board certified Ophthalmologist to determine if the eye disorder was not a result of an injury, malnourishment, mistreatment, etc., to the dog. In the event the Board-Certified Licensed Veterinarian feels the eye disorder was due to an injury, malnourishment, mistreatment, etc., this contract is void.

Lifetime Genetic Disease Guarantee

All Quick Trigger Kennels puppies are guaranteed for life to never be genetically affected by EIC, CNM, PRA-pcrd, HNPK, DM and the dilute gene.

  1. All Quick Trigger Kennels puppies come microchipped. If there is any question about this guarantee, Quick Trigger Kennels requires that the dog be tested in the presence of a Board-Certified Veterinarian and that the microchip number is verified and matches the microchip number on our records.

Does QTK Health Test The Parents?

Temperament and health are our main priority. Before a dog enters our breeding program, they must undergo several tests that are important to the breed. Some of the testing includes, Genetics, Temperament, OFA Hips Elbows and/or Penn HIP, Patella and Heart, and Structure. Parents are health tested Board-Certified Licensed Veterinarians and the Orthopedic Foundation (OFA) and CAER, genetically tested thru PawPrint Genetics.  All these results are available online for viewing.

QTK takes extreme amount of care in the nutrition of our dogs providing them with the absolute best food possible that comes from NutriSource, Royal Canin, and our very own farm.  Having our own land, we grow nutritious vegetables that include pumpkin, squash, green beans, cucumbers, and raise chickens and pheasants that provide excellent sources of eggs and meat.  In addition, we obtain and feed venison and cow organs and meat to provide to our dogs.
